Cuba: The Future of IT Talent

Many U.S. companies are looking towards Cuba when it comes to hiring their IT teams. Programmers in Cuba have vast knowledge in areas such as coding, programming, and designing phone or Internet apps. The job market in IT remains very competitive in Cuba, and the talent continues to grow.

Cuba’s low wages are partly to blame for this major boom in the country’s IT industry. Cuba also has seen a larger influx of the most up-to-date IT software than nearly anywhere in the U.S., giving them access to many more opportunities. Software designers, in addition to creating applications, can also do work in video game design, device drivers, business productivity software, and so much more.

The demand for more and more IT workers will only grow in today’s modern society, especially in countries thriving on their amount of technology, like the United States. Technology is bound to evolve, which will then lead to a greater need for those who are able to understand and improve upon the technology. There are even talks of having such things as artificial intelligence in the near future. And IT developers will be essential in that as well.

As stated in an experiment done by Evans Data Corp., “For larger enterprise solutions you’ll need to involve a wider range of team members across the business, engineering, operations, financial, and sales organizations. In a smaller company or a startup, team members make be responsible for multiple roles.”

That means that finding good, adaptable IT programmers is essential.

These reasons seem to play a big part in why many U.S. corporations are outsourcing their IT teams to Cuba. If Cuba continues to offer such low wages while also having the best software, and a continuing need for quality IT teams continues to grow, so too will the potential of programmers in Cuba.
